Salarpuria Sattva says it paid Rs 18 lakh wages to workers
Company response to FIR on non-payment of wages

After a story published in thebengalurulive that an FIR has been registered against Salarpuria Sattva and Simplex Infrastructure Limited for non-payment of wages to workers, the builder has responded and said that he has paid Rs 18 lakh in wages to the labourers.
The FIR was filed by Swaraj India activists on May 1, for non-payment of salaries for around 700 workers, under sections 420, 419, 406 r/w 34 of the IPC.
PK Mishra, Vice-President, Salarpuria Sattva group, who is named as accused number one in the FIR, responded in a release, stating that as per the contract Simplex Infrastructure were supposed to pay the daily wage workers, not Salarpuria Sattva.
He said, “At Salarpuria, we believe in maintaining transparency and follow high standards of work ethics. As per the contract, Simplex Infrastructure were supposed to pay the daily wage workers. Upon knowing that this was not being followed, Salarpuria Sattva paid the workers their dues during the entire lockdown period, which amounted up to Rs.18 lakh.”
“The company also ensured that the workers were provided with essential groceries and rations as well. We have not yet received any information on the FIR filed. We will examine it and respond after receipt of information. We are a law-abiding entity and, given the grave danger of the pandemic we are in, we will never shy away from our responsibilities towards humanity,” Mishra added.
