Fallen trees and water entering a house among overnight complaints
The GBA’s corporation-wise report recorded six complaints between midnight and 2 am on October 6: three in West corporation, two in North and one in South. All six were marked “Registered” in that report.
Five concerned fallen trees or tree-related obstructions. These included a tree on the road in Mathru Layout, Yelahanka New Town; another in Rajajinagar’s fourth block; and a fallen tree near the Mariyamma temple in Byrasandra, Tilak Nagar.
Two complaints from Prashanth Nagar described trees falling onto an electricity pole or its wires.
The remaining complaint, from Kuvempunagar first stage in Govindayyanapalya, Jalahalli East, reported drainage water entering a house following midnight rain.
These six entries cover the report’s two-hour window and should not be read as the total number of incidents across Bengaluru during the entire spell.
Stormwater-drain sensors record elevated readings
The GBA’s 3 am stormwater-drain sensor report listed a 90.37% “Water Percent” reading at one Krishnarajapura sensor.
Other readings included 87.54% at Dwaraka Nagar, Banashankari, 80.13% at Nirguna Mandir Layout, Koramangala, 79.92% at BTM Layout first stage, and 79.60% at Chamundi Nagar, Hebbal.
The individual observations were recorded at different times between 2.15 am and 3 am. These are drain-sensor readings; they do not establish the depth of water on nearby roads.
NGV Junction waterlogging slows morning traffic
At 7.16 am on Tuesday, Bengaluru Traffic Police reported waterlogging near NGV Junction towards Sony World, resulting in slow-moving traffic.
Accounts shared with the newsroom also described Monday’s rain disrupting movement around Majestic, Mysore Bank Circle, Richmond Circle, Shanthinagar, K.R. Market and K.R. Puram, with water accumulating on roads and in underpasses.
The fresh NGV Junction advisory showed that rain-related travel difficulties continued into the morning commute.
