About The Bengaluru Live

The Bengaluru Live is an independent digital news publication focused on Bengaluru and Karnataka, publishing news and information in English and Kannada.

Launched as a digital news publisher on February 27, 2020, The Bengaluru Live covers developments that affect people living and working in Bengaluru and across Karnataka, with particular attention to civic affairs, governance, public infrastructure, transport, politics, crime, public services and other matters of public interest.

Our focus

Bengaluru is at the centre of our journalism.

As the city grows and changes, The Bengaluru Live follows the institutions, decisions, projects and public issues that shape everyday life—from urban governance and civic services to mobility, infrastructure, administration and public policy.

Our coverage also extends across Karnataka when developments have wider public significance or are relevant to our readers.

English and Kannada editions

The Bengaluru Live publishes through two dedicated editions:

English: The Bengaluru Live
Kannada: ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಲೈವ್ / The Bengaluru Live Kannada

The two editions allow us to serve readers in both English and Kannada while maintaining the same commitment to accurate, attributable and reader-focused journalism.

Kannada stories are prepared for Kannada readers as editorial news copy rather than treated simply as mechanical translations of English content.

How we work

Our journalism draws on reporting, official documents and records, government and institutional communications, attributable statements, field inputs and other identifiable sources.

We aim to distinguish established facts from allegations, claims and opinions, and to attribute information appropriately.

Speed is important in digital news, but it should not come at the expense of accuracy or context.

Where a significant factual error is brought to our attention and verified, we believe it should be corrected transparently.

Independent editorial judgement

The Bengaluru Live exercises editorial judgement over what it publishes.

Advertising, sponsored or partner content does not entitle an advertiser or commercial partner to control independent editorial coverage. Commercial material is identified where appropriate in accordance with our advertising standards.

We do not sell editorial coverage as independent news in exchange for undisclosed payment.

Reader participation

Readers are an important part of a local news publication.

We welcome news tips, information about civic and public-interest issues, corrections and other relevant feedback. Information submitted by readers may be independently reviewed or verified before publication.
