BENGALURU: Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has called for an investigation into claims of sting attempts, responding with a sharp political attack after Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said he had evidence of operations targeting him and other leaders.
In a video post on X, Kumaraswamy questioned the claim and said that, if such attempts had taken place, an investigation should be conducted.

He mocked the person making the claim as a “master” of sting operations and referred to an SIT that, he alleged, had received a ₹35-lakh reward. Those remarks were part of his political response.
Earlier, Shivakumar had said he alerted police after becoming suspicious of people who approached him, and had prepared and retained records. He also claimed to know who was behind the alleged attempts and who was financing them.
Shivakumar said he would not disclose all the details immediately and had warned ministers and officials to remain cautious. Kumaraswamy’s response adds a fresh demand for a probe to the political exchange.
