Minister’s self-pat: State, Bengaluru death rates lowest in country
BENGALURU:
Taking comfort in the ‘better’ mortality rate in Karnataka and Bengaluru compared to other states and metro cities, Medical Education Minister Dr.Sudhakar tweeted on Tuesday that Delhi records 5 times and Maharashtra 3 times more than Karnataka in Covid deaths per million population. Bengaluru also has the lowest mortality rate, compared to other metros, at 115 deaths, while the state records 39 deaths per million population.

Warns officials
On a different note, the minister warned of strict action against government officials found negligent in their duties. He was responding to an incident where KC General Hospital staff delayed handing over the body of a patient to the kin.
