Bengaluru: Janata Dal (Secular) on Tuesday warned of a possible disruption to Karnataka’s 108 ambulance service, claiming that employees had threatened mass resignation if demands concerning pay revision and daily duty schedules were not addressed by 8 pm.
In an X post, the party urged the state government to take the warning seriously. The post did not identify an employees’ association or attach a resignation notice, and The Bengaluru Live has not independently verified the warning.

JD(S) said any interruption could affect people who rely on ambulances during accidents, heart attacks, childbirth and other emergencies, particularly in rural areas. These are political claims by the opposition party.
The party called on Health Minister U.T. Khader and the government to intervene in the dispute it described as involving GVK and ambulance employees, and to ensure that the emergency service continues without interruption.
Responses from the Karnataka Health Department, GVK and representatives of the 108 ambulance employees were sought and awaited. This report will be updated if responses or supporting documents become available.
