Bengaluru, October 5: Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Monday warned that BJP and JD(S) workers would lay siege to police stations across Karnataka after 10 am on Tuesday, October 6, if what he described as false complaints and police harassment over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls continued.
He was speaking to reporters alongside NDA leaders after a delegation met the state’s Chief Electoral Officer in Bengaluru to complain about alleged interference by the Congress government in the voter-list revision process.

Tuesday deadline over alleged police harassment
Kumaraswamy demanded an immediate halt to what he called unlawful arrests and false cases against BJP and JD(S) workers. He urged senior police officers, including the IG, DG and Commissioner, to instruct their subordinates to act lawfully.
If the government failed to issue proper instructions and the alleged harassment continued, the parties would launch a movement to surround police stations, he said.
Accusing the government of misusing the police department, Kumaraswamy described it as a “goonda government” and criticised its handling of FIRs.
Form 7 and SIR concerns raised with CEO
Kumaraswamy said the delegation had asked the Chief Electoral Officer to stop unlawful arrests and obtain clarification from the Election Commission of India. He maintained that submitting Form 7 was not illegal and said a court had clarified the matter.
He also alleged that the government was using the controversy to divert public attention from issues involving NICE, the Bidadi township project and the KPSC scandal.
In his X post about the meeting, Kumaraswamy alleged misuse of official machinery to facilitate the inclusion and retention of people ineligible to be registered as voters in Karnataka. He called for the integrity of electoral rolls to be protected at every stage.
BJP and JD(S) leaders join delegation
According to Kumaraswamy, the delegation included former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai, Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje, Assembly Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka, Legislative Council Leader of Opposition Chalavadi Narayanaswamy and JD(S) Legislature Party leader Suresh Babu, along with MPs, MLAs and MLCs from both parties.
