Bengaluru: Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra said the party’s core committee had decided to launch an agitation against the Congress government over FIRs against its workers in connection with SIR Form-7 and the issue of permanent residence certificates (PRCs).
In a statement, Vijayendra alleged that the government was pursuing “politics of vendetta” by registering false FIRs against BJP workers. He also claimed that the High Court had pulled up the government over violations of rules in issuing PRCs.
Describing the government’s actions as unlawful and oppressive, he said the core committee had resolved to mount an intensified struggle on behalf of the public.
His announcement did not specify a date, venue or schedule for the proposed agitation.
