The Karnataka government has launched an investigation into the alleged involvement of a top-ranking police officer’s family in a gold smuggling racket. Additional Chief Secretary Gaurav Gupta has been appointed to examine the potential role of DGP rank officer K Ramachandra Rao in the smuggling activities conducted by his stepdaughter, renowned Kannada actress Ranya Rao.
