Focus on Solving Parking Issues
Addressing the growing parking challenges in and around the commercial complex, Ramesh held detailed discussions with officials on creating a long-term solution. He directed authorities to examine the feasibility of converting the existing basement area entirely into a dedicated parking facility and developing a well-organised parking system within the market premises.
Redevelopment of Older Blocks
The commissioner also instructed officials to prepare a detailed action plan for the redevelopment of the ageing Block 2, Block 3 and Block 4 structures within the commercial complex. The proposal aims to transform these spaces into modern facilities capable of supporting commercial activities and improving the overall utility of the complex.
Space for Civic Offices
As part of the redevelopment initiative, officials were asked to explore the possibility of accommodating key offices and administrative units of the Bengaluru South City Corporation within the renovated complex. The move is expected to improve operational efficiency while making civic services more accessible to the public.
Encroachment Removal and Public Grievances
During the inspection, Ramesh interacted with local residents and traders and heard their grievances regarding civic issues in the area. He directed officials to prioritise the removal of encroachments on footpaths surrounding the commercial complex and ensure better maintenance and cleanliness of pedestrian pathways.
Chief Engineer Basavaraj Kabade, Executive Engineers Mahantesh and Hariprasad, along with other senior officials, were present during the inspection.
