MADIKERI:
With heavy rains lashing have Madikeri town on Thursday, more than 150 people have been evacuated to safer locations. The road connecting Madikeri to Virajpet was inundated as the Cauvery river had risen to dangerous levels. Traffic on the Bhetri bridge was stopped for safety reasons.
Under the circumstances, Virajpet can be reached via Moornadu – Kondangeri – Malkugunda – Virajpet, Madikeri – Maragodu – Kondangeri – Mallugunda – Virajpet and Kushalanagar – Guddeohosur – Nellihudikeri – Siddapur – Ammaty.
