‘Fit Health Worker’ campaign under way across Karnataka till Oct 23

Focusing on the health of its own employees, the state government’s Department of Health and Family Welfare has initiated a check-up for department staff in association with various hospitals. On October 12, the Commissioner, Department of Health and Family Welfare, inaugurated the ‘Fit Health Worker’ campaign for its staff in Bengaluru. Health and family welfare department commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey kick started the campaign.
The campaign, focusing on Bengaluru Urban in association with KC General Hospital, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology and MS Ramaiah Instituite of Dental Sciences, saw a footfall of 144 male and 117 female employees who were screened for hypertension, diabetes and three types of cancers (oral, breast and cervical). The campaign for health staff in Bengaluru Urban will run till October 15.
A similar exercise in other districts of the state started on October 2 and will continue till October 23.
