Karnataka Covid death toll crosses 10,000-mark

Bengaluru Urban district recorded 3362 deaths in last eight months

BENGALURU:

The number of Covid-19 related deaths in Karnataka accounted for 10,036 ever since the onset of the pandemic, as 70 more persons succumbed to the disease in the last 24-hours.

The total number of cases of the COVID-19 also surged to 717915 as 7606 more new cases were traced in the last 24-hours.

According to official sources a highest single-day discharges of 12030 also registered in the last 24-hours taking the total number of persons cured from the disease surged to 592084 in the state.

The Bengaluru Urban district was recorded a new cases of 3498 COVID-19 disease, followed by Bagalakote 161, Ballari 142, Belagavi 444, Bengaluru Rural 113, Bidar 18, Chamarajanagara 70, Chikkaballapura 128, Chikkamagaluru 162, Chitradurga 210, Dakshina Kannada 303, Davanagere 114, harwada 109, Gadag 26, Hassana 278, Haveri 50, Kalaburagi 127, Kodagu 65, Kolara 59, Kopala 77, Mandya 124, Mysuru 309, Raichuru 43, Ramanagara 53, Shivamogga 66, Tumakuru 264, Udupi 317, Uttara Kannada 151, Vijayapura 91 and Yadagiri district 34.

In the last 24-hours as many as 78757 persons had taken COVID-19 tests including that of 23564 of the Rapid Antigen Detection tests.

The positive rate for the day among those who taken tests accounts for 9.65 per cent while the mortality rate was 0.92 per cent, the sources added. (Agency)
