BENGALURU:
Amid the coronavirus-induced debate on online education, a team of experts led by Prof. MK Sridhar has submitted a report, titled ‘Continuation of Learning in School Education of Karnataka’, to Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Suresh Kumar.
Addressing a presser, the minister said as per the panel pre-primary students from 3 to 6 years can only be taught innovative activities such as play, story and rhymes in the presence of parents. Similarly, innovative activities can be provided for two hours, three days a week, for students of classes 1 to 2.
The experts have suggested online tuition of 2 sessions of 30 minutes, 5 days a week, for classes 3 to 5. For classes 6 to 10, a maximum of 45 minutes per session has been suggested.
“It is a matter of pride for us that a committee headed by education experts like Prof. MK Sridhar, Gururaj Karzagi and Prof. V.P. Niranjan Aradhya has submmitted a constructive report,” Kumar said.
