Bengaluru Police Conduct Special Citywide Security Drive After IPL 2026 Final, Seize 87 Vehicles

Bengaluru, June 1: Bengaluru City Police conducted a massive citywide security and vehicle-checking drive following the Tata IPL 2026 Final held on May 31, aiming to maintain public order and prevent any untoward incidents during post-match celebrations.
According to a press note issued by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City, a special security operation was launched across the city with extensive deployment of police personnel and vehicle-checking teams.

As part of the operation, Bengaluru Police established 99 vehicle-checking and nakabandi points at strategic locations across the city.
To strengthen surveillance and law enforcement, 721 beat patrol teams and 270 combined beat patrol teams were deployed in different police jurisdictions.
During the intensive checking drive, police inspected a total of 3,516 vehicles, including 2,502 two-wheelers, 556 auto-rickshaws and 458 four-wheelers.
Police also initiated action against vehicles found violating traffic and law-and-order regulations. During the operation, 87 vehicles were seized, including 83 two-wheelers, three auto-rickshaws and one four-wheeler.
The special drive was carried out to ensure public safety, monitor celebrations following the IPL final and deter any unlawful activities across Bengaluru.
City Police officials stated that similar preventive and enforcement measures will continue to be undertaken during major public events and celebrations to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens.
