Bengaluru, June 1: The Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes has issued a strong warning against the circulation of unauthorized information related to the Social and Educational Survey-2025, stating that any disclosure or dissemination of survey data would violate directions issued by the Karnataka High Court.
In a press release issued on Monday, the Commission clarified that it had submitted its report based on data collected during the Social and Educational Survey-2025 to the Karnataka Government on May 27, 2026.
The Commission said the Karnataka High Court, in its order dated September 25, 2025, in connection with Writ Petition Nos. 28665/2025, 28668/2025 and 28675/2025, had directed the Commission to maintain strict confidentiality of all information collected from individuals during the survey.

In compliance with the court’s directions, the Commission stated that extensive measures have been taken to safeguard the confidentiality of both individual information and the data generated through the survey process.
According to the Commission, the government has also been requested to keep the submitted report under secure custody to ensure that the data remains protected from unauthorized access or disclosure.
The Commission expressed concern over reports that certain individuals are allegedly circulating false and misleading information regarding the survey data through media reports and social media platforms.
It clarified that neither the survey data nor any information contained in the report submitted to the government has been disclosed by the Commission.
Officials stated that several claims currently circulating in public discussions are based purely on assumptions and speculation and do not originate from any official source.
The Commission emphasized that the spread of unverified information regarding the survey or the report amounts to disregard and violation of the High Court’s directions.
Warning of legal consequences, the Commission stated that sharing false, misleading or unauthorized information relating to the survey data or the report on media and social media platforms could attract criminal proceedings.
The Commission said it would be compelled to initiate appropriate legal action against individuals found responsible for violating the confidentiality requirements imposed by the court.
The statement was issued by the Member Secretary of the Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes on the directions of the Commission Chairman.
