Bengaluru Authorities Destroy Illicit Liquor Worth ₹3.9 Million, Prevent Significant Revenue Loss
Bengaluru: A significant blow has been struck against illegal liquor operations in Bengaluru, as excise officials destroyed foreign liquor valued at ₹3.9 million (39 Lakh).
The operation, led by Joint Commissioner of Excise (Bengaluru North Division) Feroz Khan Khilledar and Deputy Commissioner of Excise (Bangalore City District-3) Dr. K.S. Murali, culminated in the destruction of 516 liters of illicit foreign liquor, packaged in 516 bottles, along with confiscated cigarettes and empty bottles.
The raid, conducted on June 12th at the premises of Allied Blenders and Distilleries, resulted in the seizure and subsequent destruction of the contraband. Authorities estimate that this action has prevented a loss of approximately ₹3 million to the state treasury.
In a separate operation, the Excise Department further underscored its commitment to public safety by destroying 362.14 liters of liquor, wine, and beer deemed unfit for human consumption. Deputy Commissioner Dr. K.S. Murali emphasized the department’s ongoing efforts to combat the illegal liquor trade and safeguard public health.
