Bengaluru: The North Western Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NWKRTC) will be renamed Kittur Rani Chennamma Transport Corporation, Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar announced at the Kittur Utsav on Sunday.
Shivakumar said orders would be issued immediately for the construction of Chennamma Freedom Park. Following requests from local legislators, ₹40 crore would be provided in the next Budget, he said.
A ₹520-crore Sri Channavrishabhendra lift-irrigation project is under the government’s consideration, the Chief Minister said.
He said projects worth about ₹1,000 crore were planned in the constituency, including a 100-bed hospital and ₹300 crore of Public Works Department works.
