From Jan 1, safari at Bengaluru’s Bannerghatta zoo to get costlier

A team from the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services recently gave a ‘certificate of Covid compliance’ to Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBP) after satisfying itself with the precautionary steps taken by the zoo.
A maximum of 4,400 visitors are allowed daily on a staggered basis. Apart from online ticketing, one physical ticketing counter is functional with physical distancing. Protocols like wearing masks, screening and hand washing are strictly adhered to, while safari vehicles run at 50% occupancy.
A nodal person co-ordinates precautionary measures for staff and visitors, while all frequently touched surfaces are regularly sanItised.
According to the Executive Director, the zoo has initiated action on the recommendations of the government team.
Recently, visitors from outside the state with quarantine stamps on their hands were not allowed inside BPP. The park authoritties have clarified that persons with quarantine stamps will not be allowed inside.
