Town Planning official Devendrappa was trapped in Feb while accepting bribe of Rs 20 lakh
More skeletons are tumbling out of the bribe-tainted BBMP officer’s cupboard, with sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau seizing unaccounted cash of Rs 25 lakh from the bank locker of the Bommanahalli zone Town Planning Department’s Assistant Director SN Devendrappa. The ACB had raided the officer’s house on Tuesday morning.
The BBMP Commissioner has currently kept Devendrappa under suspension. On Tuesday, ACB sleuths searched the residence of Devendrappa at Amritanagar, C Sector and the house of his close associate Srinivas Murthy in Gupta Layout near Ulsoor.
“In one of the lockers associated with Devendrappa, Rs 25 lakh in cash and 680 gm silver were found. We have recovered the items and investigation is under way,” a police officer said.
Devendrappa was caught red-handed accepting a Rs 20-lakh bribe on February 5.
