Mysuru alarms with second highest Covid deaths after Bengaluru
BENGALURU:
The coronavirus continues its death dance in the state, with 93 casualties reported on Saturday. With this, Karnataka’s total death count from Covid-19 has risen to 1,240.
Of the 93 deaths statewide, 49 have been recorded in Bengaluru, said Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.
Bengaluru saw a single-day high of 2,125 fresh infections on Saturday out of 4,537 cases statewide. Karnataka’s total caseload is now 59,652.
In the last 24 hours, 1,018 people have recovered from the infection and been discharged. According to the minister, 509 fresh cases were reported in Dakshina Kannada, 186 in Dharwad, 155 in Bellary, 137 in Belgaum, 176 in Vijayapura and 4 in Yadgir.
There are a total of 36,631 active cases in the state, including 22,498 active cases in Bengaluru. The mortality rate is 2.8% in the state and 2.13% in Bengaluru.
