BENGALURU: A woman, who was married for 13 years and has a son from her husband, eloped with her Instagram boyfriend Santosh a week ago and got married to him at a temple. The husband and his family came to know about it when they saw videos and photos of her on Instagram.
Nethravathi had got married to Ramesh V, a resident of Raghavendra Nagar in Jakkasandra, Nelamangala, 13 years ago. About 15 days ago, she filed a complaint with the police accusing her husband of harassment after coming home drunk. A week after that, she got married to her Instagram boyfriend.
On Wednesday, Nethravathi visited the Nelamangala police station along with a lawyer seeking police protection to take her belongings from her husband’s house. She had also thrown him out of the house after she had filed a complaint against him.
Speaking to media persons, the husband Ramesh said, “We were leading a normal life all along. Nethravathi had lost her parents during her childhood and our was an arranged marriage. About 15 days, she had complained against me and threw me out of the house. The police had given her three months time to sort out the issue. One week after lodging the complaint against me, she got married to another man. I don’t know where she has kept our son. I too had lost my parents at a young age and was brought up by my aunt and uncle”.
Further, he said, “She had got a share of farm land from her father’s side and I had got it registered in her name. She has pledged the land and got married to another man. The land is worth about Rs 50 lakh. The other man is eyeing the land”.
Ramesh’s aunt Thayamma said, “She has cheated my son and married her Instagram boyfriend. She says it’s her choice and is not ready to listen to us. We don’t know where the grandson is. People allege that she has had illicit relationships two years ago”.
