Just hours before the week-long lockdown was to commence on Tuesday night, Bengaluru Urban reported 56 Covid deaths even as Karnataka saw the highest single-day toll of 87 deaths.
Bengaluru saw yet another spike of 1,267 fresh positive cases. The city now has 15,052 active cases overall.
Giving out these figures during an evening media briefing, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar said Bengaluru reported 664 discharges on Tuesday — the city’s recovery rate is now 20.92%.
Active cases statewide are also on the rise, and as per the minister are currently 25,839. The state as a whole saw 1,142 discharges on Tuesday, and the recovery rate is now 37.41%.
