2nd straight day of welcome stats: 5,619 infected, 5,407 discharged
BENGALURU:
For the second straight day, Karnataka has reported a ‘super’ recovery rate as against the number of positive cases diagnosed statewide and in the state capital. The respective recovery rates are 49.32% — highest so far for the state – and 47.74% in Bengaluru.
As per the bulletin released by the Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Department on Wednesday evening, the state saw 5,619 positive cases while 5,407 patients were cured of the dreaded virus.
On Tuesday evening, 6,259 corona infections were detected in Karnataka while 6,777 cases recovered. Bengaluru saw 1.848 infections and 3.083 discharges.
Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar tweeted the recovery rate and added that the mortality rates had come down despite around 100 people succumbing in the last 24 hours. Bengaluru reported the highest deaths statewide of 29, taking its mortality rate to 1.79%, while the state’s mortality rate stands at 1.85%.

The total caseload statewide is now 1,51,449 out of which 73,958 are active. The death toll in the state is 2,804.
