Karnataka Launches SIR 2026 Voter Roll Revision from June 30; Door-to-Door Verification to Cover Every Eligible Voter
Bengaluru, June 29: The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, has released the detailed schedule and guidelines for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 of the electoral rolls, with door-to-door verification by Booth Level Officers (BLOs) beginning on June 30, 2026.
The SIR exercise aims to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll and that voter records remain accurate and up to date.
According to the CEO, Karnataka, the objective of the Special Intensive Revision is to include every eligible citizen in the voter list. Citizens have been urged to verify that their names are included in the electoral roll and actively participate in the revision process.

What Will Booth Level Officers (BLOs) Do?
During the month-long verification drive, Booth Level Officers will:
- Visit every household between June 30 and July 29, 2026.
- Provide enumeration forms to voters whose names appeared in the electoral roll as of June 16, 2026.
- Hand over two copies of the enumeration form.
- Assist voters in filling out the forms.
- Collect the completed forms and issue an acknowledgement receipt.
What Voters Need to Do
The Election Department has requested voters to:
- Fill in both forms provided by the BLO.
- Affix one recent colour photograph if desired (photograph is not mandatory).
- Contact the BLO if assistance is required in filling the form or uploading it online.
- Submit the completed forms to the BLO and obtain a receipt.
Who Is Eligible to Be an Elector?
As per Article 326 of the Constitution of India, a person is eligible if he or she:
- Is an Indian citizen.
- Is at least 18 years of age.
- Is ordinarily resident in the concerned constituency.
- Is not disqualified under any law.
How to Check Your Name in the Draft Electoral Roll
Voters can verify their names through:
- The voter list maintained by the Booth Level Officer.
- The ECINET Mobile App.
- The official portal voters.eci.gov.in.
- The websites of the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka and the respective District Election Officer.
What If Your Name Is Missing?
If a person’s name does not appear in the draft electoral roll, they should submit Form 6 along with the prescribed declaration.
Applications can be submitted:
- Through the Booth Level Officer.
- Online at voters.eci.gov.in.
- Via the ECINET Mobile App.
Electoral Forms
The Election Department has notified the following application forms:
- Form 6 – New Voter Registration
- Form 6A – Overseas Voter Registration
- Form 7 – Deletion of Name
- Form 8 – Change of Residence, Correction of Entries, Replacement of EPIC, or PwD Marking
Documents That May Be Accepted
The indicative list of supporting documents includes:
- Government-issued Identity Card or Pension Payment Order.
- Government or local authority-issued certificates.
- Birth Certificate.
- Passport.
- Matriculation or Educational Certificate.
- Permanent Residence Certificate.
- Forest Rights Certificate.
- OBC/SC/ST or other caste certificates.
- National Register of Citizens (where applicable).
- Family Register maintained under statutory provisions.
- Government land or house allotment certificate.
The Election Department has clarified that the document list is indicative and not exhaustive, and verification will be carried out in accordance with Election Commission guidelines.
Appeal Provision
Any person aggrieved by the decision of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) may file an appeal under Section 24 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, before the District Magistrate/District Election Officer.
