Candidates who do not wish to accept their existing allotment under Choice 1 but intend to participate in the third round may cancel the seat allotted in the second round by paying a penalty of ₹5,000, according to the authority.

The extension gives candidates additional time to complete choice entry, fee payment, college reporting or seat cancellation procedures under the ongoing counselling process.
