Bengaluru Announces Four-Day SIR Campaign for Electoral Roll Revision 2026
Bengaluru: The Bengaluru District Election Authority will conduct a four-day special campaign as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Electoral Rolls–2026, District Election Officer and Greater Bengaluru Authority Chief Commissioner Maheshwar Rao said.
The special drives will be held on August 29 and 30 and September 19 and 20 under the directions of the Election Commission of India. The initiative is intended to help eligible citizens submit electoral-roll applications and verify whether their names appear in the draft voter list.
Maheshwar Rao directed the additional district election officers to ensure the compulsory presence of booth-level officers at their respective polling stations on all four campaign days. The BLOs must provide voters with the assistance required to check and update their electoral-roll details.
Adequate quantities of Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8 must be made available to the BLOs. They have also been instructed to help voters locate their names in the draft electoral roll and receive claims and objections submitted by applicants.
All forms received from applicants must be digitised and compulsorily entered into the BLO App, according to the directions issued by the district election authority.
The additional district election officers have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with the directions and take all necessary measures for the campaign. They have also been asked to organise Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation activities to increase public awareness and ensure the successful conduct of the SIR campaign.
