A group of armed militants, identified as the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), has taken 35 passengers hostage after launching a surprise attack on a train in southwestern Pakistan. The ordeal took place as the Jaffar Express traveled from Quetta to Peshawar. Local authorities report that although a significant number of passengers are safe, the threat remains dire for the hostages.
