Four Private Buses Gutted in Fire at Parking Yard in Anekal
Bengaluru, July 26: Four private buses were destroyed in a fire that broke out at a parking yard in Old Chandapura of Anekal taluk on Sunday afternoon.
According to preliminary information, the fire initially broke out in one parked bus before spreading to three other buses parked nearby, completely gutting all four vehicles.
The incident occurred at around 2 pm. One of the buses had reportedly returned from Ballari earlier in the morning and had been parked in the yard. The driver, who was resting nearby, noticed flames emerging from the middle portion of the bus and attempted to douse the fire using water from a nearby tank. However, the flames quickly intensified and spread to the adjacent buses.
Sources said one of the buses was operating on the Bengaluru-Ballari route, while the other three had reportedly been parked in the yard for nearly two months and were believed to have been kept for sale. Drivers were said to start the vehicles periodically to keep them in running condition.
Fire and Emergency Services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control. No casualties or injuries have been reported as the buses were parked and there were no passengers on board at the time of the incident.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Surya City Police visited the scene and have initiated further investigation.
