BENGALURU:
Following discussions with managements of private hospitals in Bengaluru, the latter had recently agreed to reserve 50 percent of their beds for Covid patients.
On Friday, the Health Department issued a list of 73 private hospitals in the city where Covid patients can get admitted and treated at rates prescribed by the government. The list provides the names, addresses and contacts pertaining to each hospital.
In a message along with the list of hospitals, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has said the beds will be allotted through a centralised system based on symptoms. The CM’s note says patients can themselves go to the listed hospitals with the SRF (sample) number and test report. It further says that serious cases shall not be denied admission even if the test report is not available.
Health commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey tweeted: “In order to provide the necessary treatment to the COVID patients in Bangalore, we have reserved 50% beds in Govt. and Pvt. Hospitals. Beds will be allotted by the central bed allotment system based on the symptoms and other criteria of the Govt.”
