Countering ‘politically motivated’ charge, Minister Sudhakar points to CBI raids during Congress rule at Centre

BENGALURU/MYSURU:

In response to allegations by several Congress leaders that Monday’s CBI raids on residences of DK Shivakumar and his brother DK Suresh were politically motivated, Medical Education Minister K Sudhakar pointed to the irony of the allegations when the same agency had raided other politicians during the Congress’s rule at the Centre.

“Every time a CBI raid is conducted, Congress leaders allege it is politically motivated. Then what should we call it when the CBI conducted raids when the Congress was ruling at the Centre?” questioned Sudhakar.

On Monday morning, CBI officials raided residences and offices of KPCC president DK Shivakumar and MP DK Suresh in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.

Sudhakar tweeted, “When Amit Shah was banned from Gujarat for 2 years, when the CBI raided several non-Congress leaders, including the CM of Andhra Pradesh, it was forgotten that the Congress was in power at the Centre.”
