BENGALURU:

Has the Covid situation in Bengaluru gone out of control? The figures shared by BBMP’s Covid war room suggest so, as the number of active containment zones has more than doubled in the last 24 hours.

As per the war room bulletin released on Sunday night, the number of active containment zones has gone up to 3,181 from 1, 423 in the past 24 hours. However, the positivity rate remains the same at 7.70% and the active rate at 88% in the city.

BBMP, which aims to conduct 10,000 tests in the city, conducted around 4,825 tests on July 6. Till today, it has conducted 1,29,256 tests.

Upscale victims

In the last 24 hours, Pattabhiram Nagar in Jayanagar has recorded more than 24 positive cases, alarming residents of the upscale area in South Bengaluru.

This apart, Shantala Nagar has thrown up another 16 positive cases, taking its tally to more than 200 positives, which is the highest in the city.

Many wards hit

Many other areas have reported positive cases. These are: Sampangiram Nagar, Vasanthpura, Chamarajapet, Vrishabhavathi Nagar, Suddagunte Palya, Ganga Nagar, Kumaraswamy Layout, Hagadur, Kaveripura, Attiguppe, Hombegowda Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Begur, Mallasandra, Mathikere, Horamavu, Maruthi Mandir ward, C V Raman Nagar, Sarakki, Gayithri Nagar,
Marappana Palya, Sunkenahalli, Karisandra, Byrasandra, Bellandur, Shivanagar, Hoysala Nagar, Aramane Nagar, Dodda Bommasandra, Manorayanapalya, Laggere, Nagapura, Jnana Bharathi Ward, Gottigere, Subramanya Nagar, Bommanahalli, Yeshwanthpur, Sagayarapuram, Radhakrishna Temple Ward, Nandini Layout, Thanisandra, Banasvadi, Agaram, Jakkasandra, Anjanapura, Gali Anjenaya Temple Ward, Kempegowda Ward, Chalavadipalya, Rayapuram, Jagajivanram Nagar, Jaraganahalli,
Puttenahalli, Gangenahalli, T Dasarahalli, Ejipura and Rajamahal Guttahalli.
