KPCL employees were on night duty when the explosion happened
BENGALURU:
Five employees were seriously injured in an explosion at the KPCL (Karnataka Power Corporation Limited) plant on the Doddaballapur road in the wee hours of Friday.
The plant is located in the Yelahanka Town police limits. Employees were working the night shift when the explosion, thought to be from a gas leak, occurred around 3.30 am, a fire official said. Fire forces managed to put out the resulting blaze.
The victims were taken to Columbia Asia Hospital but were sent back because of the non-availability of beds. The victims were reportedly sent back from another hospital too.
Meanwhile, a video of the victims crying in pain has gone viral on social media.
