Bengaluru CCB Acts Against Over 17 Rowdy-Sheeters, Accused Evading Police and Courts
Bengaluru: The Central Crime Branch has taken legal action against more than 17 rowdy-sheeters and accused persons over the past month in a special operation targeting those evading police or skipping court hearings, Bengaluru City Police said on October 7.
The operation focused on people involved in various cases who had gone into hiding to avoid the police and those who were not appearing before the courts, according to the police statement.
CCB to intensify operations
Police said the special drive was aimed at curbing unlawful activities involving rowdy-sheeters in Bengaluru. They described the measures against the more than 17 people as appropriate legal action.
The CCB will intensify its operations against such activities in the city in the coming days, the statement said.
