2 task forces will monitor Covid treatment in Bengaluru

BENGALURU:

State Chief Secretary TM Vijay Bhaskar has constituted two special teams led by IAS officers to monitor Covid care facilities in Bengaluru city.

Bhaskar, who also heads the State Disaster Management Authority’s Executive Committee, appointed senior IAS officers TK Anil Kumar and N Jayaram, who will monitor Covid Care Centres and availability of medical staff in private medical college hospitals and private hospitals respectively.

The task force led by TK Anil Kumar, who is Secretary to the Medical Education Department, will look into arrangements in hospitals attached to private medical colleges for medical / paramedical staff for Covid Care Centres. It will include RGUHS vice-chancellor Dr Sacchidanand, Medical Education director Dr Girish, and Ayush Commissioner, IAS officer Meenakshi Negi.

The other team led by BWSSB Chairman N Jayaram will oversee arrangements in all other private hospitals. The team includes Bescom MD Rajiv Gowda, Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner Shivamurthy, Bengaluru Rural Deputy Commissioner Ravindra, the jurisdictional deputy commissioner of police, the Bengaluru Urban district health officer and the Bengaluru Rural district health officer.
