City sees 22 out of state’s 54 deaths on Wednesday
In a heart-rending case, a 14-year-old boy suffering from ILI succumbed to the dreaded coronavirus in Bengaluru. The boy was admitted to a Covid hospital on June 24 after he complained of a fever. He breathed his last on June 26.
On Wednesday, the state recorded 54 deaths, of which Bengaluru’s share was 22. As per the Health Department bulletin, the state’s death toll is now 470. ICU cases statewide are 452, of which 290 are in the state capital.
Of Wednesday’s fatalities, Dharwad reported 7, Raichur and Hassan 3 each, Ballari 4, Tumkur, Chikkaballapur, Mysuru and Vijayapur 2 each, and Bidar, Dakshina Kannada, Kalaburagi, Chikkamagalur, Bangalore Rural and Tumkur one each.
