BENGALURU:

The Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka and President of the Pradesh Congress Committee, DK Shivakumar, may be the target of JDS state president and former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy. However, the question remains: why did Kumaraswamy bring up the name of IAS officer Rajendra Cholan, who is currently serving as secretary to Shivakumar?

During a media address in Chikmagalur on Sunday, Kumaraswamy alleged that Cholan had resided in Shobha Apartment near the Lulu Mall for six months. He questioned the amount of power bill generated during Cholan’s stay, highlighting that it occurred while Cholan was the BESCOM MD.

Although Kumaraswamy did not explain why he mentioned Cholan’s name or his intentions behind this example, he warned (without taking DK Shivakumar’s name) against making light accusations about his mental state. He stated that the Congress was alleging his mental imbalance and that he was speaking without reason.

It is worth noting that Cholan has previously served as a BESCOM Managing Director.
