Udupi, Dakshina Kannada top 2nd PUC, followed by Kodagu

The second PUC exam results announced on Tuesday showed a pass percentage of 61.80 per cent, said Education Minister Suresh Kumar. That is a marginal improvement over last year’s 61.73 per cent.

Of the 5,56,267 students who wrote the exams, 3,84,947 have passed. Girls dominate boys this year too in scoring marks.

District-wise Udupi and Dakshina Kannada have the best pass percentage (90.71%), followed by Kodagu (81.53%). Chitradurga, Raichur and Vijayapura make up the tail with pass percentages below 57%.

There were 91,025 repeat candidates, of whom 25,602 have passed. Among them, the pass percentage is a poor 46.56 per cent.

Of 27,985 private candidates, 6,748 have passed, or just 26.11per cent.

Streamwise, the pass percentage is 76.2 per cent in Science, 41.27 per cent in Arts, and 65.52 per cent in Commerce, the minister said.
