BENGALURU: A techie from Bengaluru alleged that his wife is demanding money to live with him and is harassing him by not letting him work properly. He has since lodged a complaint against his wife at a police station.
Following her husband’s allegations, his wife made counter-allegations that all those allegations are false and she is suffering mental torture from her husband and facing dowry harassment. She already gave a complaint at the Vyalikaval police station against him.
The techie, Srikanth, alleged that it was an arranged marriage. They got married in 2022, but she has been making the husband’s life miserable. He has filed a police complaint against his wife, alleging that she is demanding money — Rs 5,000 per day — to live with him and is torturing him for no reason. She has refused to have children, saying they can adopt children when they are 60 years old.
The husband alleged that the wife threatens to commit suicide and writes death notes, blackmailing him into doing her bidding. Srikanth works from home, but the wife creates a ruckus by playing loud music and dancing, disrupting his work. He lost his software job due to wife’s torture and he could not focus his projects, he claimed.
The wife also allegedly blocks the husband’s way and prevents him from doing his job. The husband said he is fed up with the wife’s behaviour and has lost all sense of happiness in their marriage. The husband has filed a complaint against the wife and her family members at the Vyalikaval police station. The police are investigating the matter.
The husband alleges that the wife is demanding Rs 45 lakh to grant him a divorce. However, the wife, Bindu, denies all allegations, saying she did not demand money from her husband to run the household or for a divorce. Instead, she claims her father spent Rs 40 lakh on their wedding, and she asked her husband to return that amount.
The wife also alleges that her husband has been physically abusing her, and she has filed a complaint against him at the police station. She claimed that her husband used to record every moment in the house which was weird and strange. She claims to have audio and video evidence of the abuse and will provide it to the police. The husband, however, has edited the audio and video to make it seem like she is the one who is abusing him, she claimed.
