Private hospitals to help with 6,000 Covid beds: Minister
BENGALURU:
Private hospitals have agreed to provide 3,500 beds for Covid treatment. They will also manage Covid Care Centres in collaboration with hotels for asymptomatic and mildly symptomatic patients, making for a total of 6,000-7,000 beds, Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar told a presser on Wednesday.
JJMMC stipends
On the Jagadguru Jayadeva Murugarajendra Medical College (JJMMC), Davangere stipend issue, the minister said the CM had directed the college management to release the stipends of resident doctors and P-G medicos immediately.
Get tested, beat corona
Giving the folklore example of ‘Punya Koti’, the minister said the honest cow had kept its promise and surrendered to the mighty tiger. Similarly, we should be honest regarding the coronavirus and get tested without shirking our responsibility. Wearing masks, social distancing, following government guidelines, etc., are the weapons which can win the war against Covid, he said.
