WASHINGTON: Rapper Nicki Minaj recently issued a heartfelt apology to her fans in Amsterdam after an unexpected turn of events led to the cancellation of her concert. The drama unfolded when Minaj was arrested by Dutch authorities for allegedly âcarrying drugs,â an incident she documented and shared on social media.
Minaj addressed the incident directly in a video shared by a fan account, expressing her regret and love for her fans. âI love you, and Iâm so sorry this happened tonight,â she said. The arrest and its aftermath left her unable to perform, much to the disappointment of her dedicated followers.
In a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter), Minaj reflected on the dayâs events, thanking those who supported her during the ordeal. âEveryone who prayed for me today, may God cover you & all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imaginationâ, she wrote.
Minaj recounted the timeline of her arrest and the subsequent delays, emphasizing her determination to perform despite the challenges. âAfter sitting in a jail cell for 5-6 hours, my plane still didnât take off for another 20 mins once I boarded. The flight was 50 mins. 50 minsâ, she noted, highlighting the tight schedule that thwarted her plans.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for me today. May God cover you & all that is connected to you. May you be blessed beyond your imagination.

She expressed frustration with the situation, suggesting that it was part of a deliberate effort to prevent her from performing. âSo they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight. I succeeded at getting to the root of it all by recording them & posting everything in real time,â Minaj said adding, âI have sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldnât believe it if I told you. Iâll have the lawyers & GOD take it from here tho.â
Minajâs message included a sincere apology to her fans, acknowledging the pain caused by the cancelled show. âThey sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass,â she said. She promised to make up for the missed performance with a special bonus for ticket holders, reassuring fans that her upcoming shows in Birmingham and Manchester would proceed as planned.
According to Deadline, Dutch police confirmed that Minaj was released from custody and fined for âillegally exporting soft drugs from the Netherlands to another country.â
Minaj shared her experience of the detention on social media, alleging that there were deliberate attempts to sabotage her tour. She described how her bags were taken and claimed illegal actions were taken against her to impede her performance. (ANI)
