Bengaluru: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has escalated its investigation into the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) scam, provisionally attaching 92 properties worth an estimated ₹100 crore.
The move has ignited a political firestorm, with the Karnataka BJP demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, alleging his involvement in the fraudulent allocation of MUDA sites.

This latest action brings the total value of properties seized in connection with the MUDA scam to ₹400 crore. The ED alleges that the attached properties are registered under the names of housing cooperative societies and individuals acting as fronts for influential figures, including MUDA officials.
The ED initiated its investigation based on an FIR filed by the Lokayukta Police, Mysuru, against Siddaramaiah and others under the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.
The ED’s investigation has revealed a “large-scale scam” involving the illegal allotment of MUDA sites through fraudulent means, implicating former MUDA commissioners like G.T. Dinesh Kumar in the process.
Karnataka BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra took to social media platform X, stating that the ED’s action exposed “one of the biggest scams in recent memory” and highlights the “breakdown in governance” under the current Congress government.

Vijayendra further accused the government of obstructing investigations and pressuring institutions to shield the Chief Minister from scrutiny.
