Bengaluru, May 23: Former Karnataka minister C.T. Ravi on Friday said the BJP will prepare constituency-wise “chargesheets” against the Congress government highlighting its alleged failures over the last three years and take them directly to the people ahead of upcoming elections in Karnataka.

Speaking to reporters at the BJP state headquarters Jagannath Bhavan after a meeting with BJP national president Nitin Nabin, Ravi said the party leadership has instructed BJP leaders and workers to intensify organisational efforts and expose what he termed as the failures of the Congress government in the state.

According to Ravi, Nitin Nabin, during his first official visit to Karnataka after becoming BJP national president, held discussions with MPs, MLAs and district-level leaders regarding election preparedness, public outreach and strengthening the party structure.

Ravi said the BJP national president specifically directed party leaders to prepare detailed “chargesheets” in every Assembly constituency listing alleged failures of the Congress government and present them before the public through sustained campaigns and people-centric struggles.

He alleged that the Congress government has failed to fulfil the trust reposed by voters during the Assembly elections and accused the administration of corruption, rising prices, governance failures and deteriorating law and order.

The BJP leader claimed that several ministers in the Congress government are facing corruption allegations and said the ruling party has focused more on publicity of guarantee schemes rather than addressing people’s real concerns.

He further alleged that unemployment, inflation and women’s safety issues have worsened under the current government.

Ravi said Nitin Nabin advised BJP leaders not to assume that anti-incumbency alone would bring the party back to power and stressed the need to establish BJP as a credible and reliable alternative through continuous engagement with the public.

Drawing a comparison with Tamil Nadu politics, Ravi said the BJP leadership cautioned party leaders against complacency and urged them to work aggressively at the grassroots level.

He said Karnataka remains one of the BJP’s strongest organisational states in the country and added that sustained public movements and issue-based campaigns would strengthen the party further.

Ravi also stated that discussions during the BJP national president’s three-day Karnataka visit would focus on Legislative Council elections, Assembly bypolls and BBMP elections, with the party preparing detailed strategies to secure victories in upcoming polls.

He further accused the Congress party of opposing every initiative taken by the BJP and alleged that Congress leaders were making “anti-Constitutional” remarks on the SIR issue.
