CHAMARAJANAGARA: A man committed suicide due to the constant harassment by his wife who constantly taunted him for having no hair on his head, in Chamrajnagar. The deceased was Parashivamurthy and his wife is Mamatha.
The wife would often mock Parashivamurthy for being bald, saying he wasn’t good-looking and wasn’t a suitable match for her. She would humiliate him in front of others, and her behaviour became unbearable for Parashivamurthy. His wife wanted to live a lavish lifestyle and was also addicted to social media, often posting pictures and reels.
She would demand expensive clothes, jewellery, and even asked Parashivamurthy to build a new house. Her constant nagging and harassment took a toll on Parashivamurthy’s mental health.
Life situation took a turn for the worse when Mamatha filed a false dowry harassment case against Parashivamurthy, which led to him being imprisoned for one-and-half months before he could come out on bail. The emotional distress and public humiliation allegedly drove him to take his life. A complaint has been lodged at the Chamrajnagar Rural police station, and an investigation is under way.
