Manufacturing opportunity beyond Bengaluru
Chief Minister D K Shivakumar welcomed the proposal at the India–Poland Business Meeting in Bengaluru, attended by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk and a Polish delegation.
He urged Polish companies to look beyond Bengaluru and explore investment opportunities across Karnataka’s districts. Medical products, healthcare and advanced manufacturing were identified as areas where investment could bring new technology, strengthen local industries, support exports and create employment.
The CMO said the Vemgal project could introduce the manufacture of smart adult incontinence pads in India for the first time.
Poland invited to investors meet in 2027
Shivakumar invited Poland to participate as a country partner in Karnataka’s Global Investors Meet 2027. He said the state would facilitate Polish investments while supporting Karnataka companies seeking opportunities in Poland.
The discussions also covered a proposed Karnataka–Katowice Digital and Gaming Corridor, building on a Letter of Intent with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Katowice and Kato.hub. The initiative seeks cooperation in artificial intelligence, gaming and deep-tech innovation involving start-ups, technology companies and research institutions.
Healthcare, energy and technology partnerships
Shivakumar encouraged Asseco and Polpharma to explore partnerships in software, pharmaceuticals and research and development. ORLEN and KGHM Polska Miedź were invited to consider investment and technology collaboration in energy, petrochemicals and advanced manufacturing.
Renewable energy, waste-to-energy, sludge management, wastewater treatment and circular economy solutions were also identified as potential areas of cooperation. The Chief Minister cited Infosys’s nearly 20-year presence in Poland as an example of the scope for deeper technology ties.
