Bengaluru: Basaveshwaranagar, Kamakshipalya and Thanisandra were among seven wards recording 23 mm of rainfall, the highest figure in the Greater Bengaluru Authority’s ward-wise report issued at 6:50 am on October 23. JP Nagar recorded 19.5 mm, while HSR Layout and Bommanahalli recorded 11.5 mm each.
The Integrated Command and Control Centre report lists rainfall figures for 140 ward entries across the city’s five corporations, ranging from 2 mm to 23 mm. It does not specify the start time of the rainfall accumulation period.
West and North Bengaluru wards top the list
The five West City Corporation wards at 23 mm were Basaveshwaranagar, Kamakshipalya, Govindarajanagar, Agrahara Dasarahalli and Dr. Rajkumar. Thanisandra and Byatarayanapura in North City Corporation also recorded 23 mm. Kempegowda ward recorded 21 mm.
In South City Corporation, JP Nagar, Sarakki, Shakambari Nagar and Jaraganahalli recorded 19.5 mm each. Begur recorded 11.75 mm, while HSR Layout, Bommanahalli and Hongasandra recorded 11.5 mm each.
Rainfall across other Bengaluru neighbourhoods
Devasandra and A Narayanapura recorded 17.5 mm each. Sampangiram Nagar, Jayamahal, Halsoor, Bharathi Nagar and Shivaji Nagar recorded 17 mm each, as did Hudi (Kuvempu Layout).
HAL Airport recorded 14 mm and Varthuru 13.5 mm. Malleshwaram recorded 8.5 mm, Koramangala and BTM Layout 5 mm each, Marathahalli 4 mm and Bellandur 3 mm.
These are ward-wise entries in GBA’s morning report, rather than a single citywide rainfall average.
Two complaints registered in the late-night reporting window
A separate GBA rainfall-complaints report covering 10 pm to midnight on October 22 lists two grievances, both marked “registered”. This is a two-hour reporting window, not a full-day complaints total.
One complaint in Rajarajeshwari Nagara ward under West City Corporation concerned obstructing branches and trimming. It was received through the Sahaaya Helpline.
The other, recorded under roadside drains in Kasavanahalli ward under South City Corporation, came through WhatsApp from the Doddakannelli area. The report does not record either grievance as resolved.
