Belagavi | 7 Employees Suspended for Hosting Unauthorized Party in DHO Office during Gandhi Jayanti

In a shocking incident, seven staff members have been suspended for organizing an unauthorized party in the district health officer’s office at the vaccine depot premises of Tilakawadi in the city.
The suspended employees include DHO’s car driver, Manjunath Patil, Mahesh Hiremath, Ramesh Naik, Satyappa Tammannavar, Anil Thippannavar, Deepaka Gawade, and Yallappa Munnavalli. District Health Officer Dr. Mahesh Koni has taken strict action against them by issuing an order of suspension.
The incident came to light when a video, recorded by one of the party attendees, went viral on social media platforms.
The video showcased the employees drinking, singing, dancing, and chatting in front of a portrait of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. This act has been widely condemned by the public.
It is important to note that the sale of alcohol and meat is prohibited on Gandhi Jayanti. Hence, the outrage stems from the fact that the health department staff organized a party in violation of these regulations.
