Post govt nod, 80 movies set for release
BENGALURU:
The state government has allowed the Kannada cinema industry to work on all production-related activities except shooting from Monday. Recently, the Chief Minister had giveng permission to shoot teleserials indoors.
The announcement was made by Revenue Minister R Ashoka on Tuesday.
Now, pre- and post-production work is allowed, as well as editing, mixing and graphics of movies which were shot before the lockdown began.
With production work resuming, around 80 movies are set for release. The stipulations are that workers should maintain social distancing and manpower should be no more than 10. In addition, sanitizers must be used and wearing masks is mandatory.
Recently, the Film Chamber of Commerce and Producer’s Association had requested the government to grant permission for indoor work.
Following the government’s nod, Praveen, Producer’s Association president, producer K Manju and representative met Revenue Minister Ashok and thanked him.
