Bengaluru: Dadasaheb Phalke Award recipient Anant Nag received a personal felicitation at his residence from Karnataka Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson and veteran actor Umashree.
Umashree visited the Padma Bhushan awardee at his home and honoured him, bringing together two senior figures from Kannada cinema.
Recognition for a career spanning five decades
Nag was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for 2024 by President Droupadi Murmu in recognition of his contribution to Indian cinema. The Union government’s announcement noted his work in more than 300 films across Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Marathi.
His screen career began with the Kannada film Sankalp, followed by his Hindi debut in Ankur. He was conferred the Padma Bhushan in 2025 for his contribution to art.
