Bengaluru: Singer Mysuru Nagamani Srinath was honoured with the State Sangeetha Vidwan Award at the opening of the Dasara cultural programmes in the Amba Vilas Palace premises in Mysuru, according to the Karnataka Chief Minister’s Office.
Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar inaugurated this year’s cultural programmes organised as part of the state festival Dasara Mahotsava and presented the award to the singer, the office said in its October 11 announcement.
According to the office, the event was attended by Legislative Assembly Speaker G.S. Patil and Legislative Council Chairman Saleem Ahmed.
Ministers Yathindra Siddaramaiah, Shivaraj Tangadagi, K.J. George and Puttarangashetty were also present, the announcement said.
The office additionally listed MLAs Harish Gowda, Anil Chikkamadu, Tanveer Sait and T.S. Srivatsa, and Legislative Council member Raghu Kautilya among those attending.
